Bobsleigh team exhibits at the worlds biggest Aviation and Air show events of 2022!
Brakeman Alex Cartagena & Pilot John Stanbridge swapped sliding on ice to entertaining guests and members of the public at the Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford, Gloucestershire. With the goal of encouraging interest in engineering through sport and providing exposure for bobsleigh as a sport. The teams exhibit featured the race sled and safety equipment required to reduce injury alongside some of the training equipment used to practice the push aspect.
The bobsleigh display was a great hit with the younger generation with many cadets, scouts and kids excited to set there eyes on a sled for the first time. The idea of the cool Runnings experience really attracted some of the older visitors too.
The event drew some of the world’s best aircraft and aviation enthusiasts with the F-35 display and Red Arrows providing an amazing crowd. RIAT covers the whole weekend and sees around 200,000 visitors attending.
Defence companies and sponsors of the team tlm Nexus and Catalyze consulting were also in attendance. John Stanbridge team captain said it was great to be able to display at such a prestigious event, the level of exposure here is amazing and really shows the value that we can provide to sponsors, but its not all about that, giving opportunities for others to learn more about engineering and sport is important to what we are about as a team.
